A Brief Description about

AL-Mashreq AL Jadid

 

 

Al Mashreq Al Jadid Center for Public opinion research and socio-political Studies is an independent research institute, established in Amman at the beginning of 2004. The center aims to provide a comprehensive and more accurate understanding of the developments and challenges which the Jordanian state and society are facing. The Center looks to examine, from all possible angles, the regional and international environments surrounding these developments, and to contribute to keeping the Jordanian and Arab public opinion informed regarding the strategic transformations which the region is witnessing.

 

The Center pays particular attention of Public opinion research , A focus group is a form of qualitative research in which a group of people are asked about their attitude concept, advertisement, idea, or packaging.

 

In the world of socio-political, focus groups are an important tool for acquiring feedback regarding new ideas, as well as various topics. In particular, focus groups allow society wishing to develop political parties, elections, or test new ideas, to discuss, view, and/or test the new forum of   socio-politically movement with public. This can provide invaluable information about the potential socio-political acceptance of the people.

 

Goals

 

Al Mashreq Al Jadid Center for Studies and through its various programs looks towards translating these programs into achieving several goals among which:

 

§         Deepening democratic awareness among the Jordanian and Arab public, contributing to the spread of human rights awareness and encouraging political participation particularly among women and youth, contributing to the process of developing democratic and political legislation while enhancing the role of civil society with its various institutions, as it represents the main guarantee for the deepening of the democratic choice.

 

§         Strengthening the concept of citizenship as a source for rights and responsibilities in the face of regional, sectarian and ethnic conflicts on the one hand and to counter efforts being made towards the building of a theocratic and totalitarian state on the other. To combat extremism, fundamentalism, and polarization and the threats these phenomena pose to national security and civil harmony, while working towards increasing dialogue, tolerance and pluralism as an alternative to the language of exclusion and cultural terrorism.

 

§         Contribute to solving urgent economic, social, and environmental challenges faced by the state and society while encouraging creative initiative taking through proposing and drawing relevant policies aimed at addressing these challenges.

 

Keeping up to date with the latest developments concerning the Arab Contributing towards presentation of a more objective reading of political Islam differentiating between legitimate Islamic movements on one side and terror organizations that use religion as a cover and pretext to justify their defiance of laws and regulations on the other side. Working with all available means towards encouraging the former combating the latter within a framework of plural democracy and peaceful competition and on the platform of respect for the concept of citizenship and modernism benefiting from what humanity has so far achieved regarding forms of relationships between religion, state and the individual.
